Dear Matthew, a kind, generous man with a wonderful sense of humour. He was so committed to students and the school. He took obvious joy in the achievements of our doctoral researchers and I always found that very endearing. He brightened my days at work. He was the person I thought would always know “the solution” - pretty much irrespective of the problem...from IT gremlins, to student queries, to rules and regs, to my fob not working (“definitely user-error Angharad!” he assured me). If I’d forgotten my phone recharger, or needed an obscure cable connector...Matthew would have one to lend (from somewhere around his desk zone). He also delivered Matthew-wisdom I will always remember. I’m thankful he was part of our community at SSP. I will miss him.
